Cristy R. who is pregnant with twins and has just completed the third trimester, but the babies have not begun to move into the birthing position yet and the doctor is not sure what to do at this point. She would rather have them naturally, but they have mentioned doing a C-section and just taking them.

Patricia V. who has an infection in her arm that had 12 lymph glands removed years ago allegedly from breast cancer. Plus she is experiencing digestive issues due to all of the pharmaceuticals they keep giving her

Cannabinomics: The Marijuana Policy Tipping Point

Dr. Fichtner offers the interpretation that “Americans are by and large ready for this change now but haven’t had the vocabulary to articulate it.” He looks at real life medical cases, recent trends in successful policy reform, drug war costs and the potential economic benefits of cannabis change.

Cannabinomics is not a medical marijuana handbook, a treatise on the drug war, or an economic model, but rather a work of patient and public policy advocacy. This new book is a paradigm-buster that calls for a stakeholder-inclusive regulatory process to help America take ownership of a homegrown commodity and facilitate system learning that could help solve larger global drug war problems.

Christopher Glenn Fichtner, M.D., is a psychiatrist who divides his time between Illinois and California. He has clinical and administrative public mental health experience in federal (U.S. Veterans Affairs), state and county systems, and served as state mental health director for Illinois from 2003 to 2005. Observations at the interface of behavioral health and criminal justice convinced Dr. Fichtner that the war on drugs has done more harm than good, and has become a major public health problem in its own right. Dr. Fichtner is an advocate for a consumer-driven, recovery-oriented, person-centered approach to healthcare, and believes that the medical marijuana revolution provides a prism through which every major healthcare policy issue is refracted. He credits medicinal cannabis consumers and policy advocates for challenging him to review the evidence on cannabis therapeutics
