Connection Surcharge	Simply, you are charged a flat chunk for each call PLUS the per minute rates (Example: 25¢ plus 1.9¢ per minute)
This is a charge subtracted from the card periodically for the life of the card. (Example: 59¢ per month)		Maintenance Charge
Per Minute Charge	While this is the most obvious, when teamed with the above two charges, it can be deceiving. Low per minute, but high surcharges add up to an actual higher total usage cost.
Another pitfall is is the lifespan of the card once used. It can expire with minutes left on it, thus, again, raising the real cost per minute.		Card Life
HELP!	The basic rule of thumb is if you plan to use all or most of the card in one use, then the PRICE PER MINUTE is most important, and paying CONNECTION and MAINTENANCE charges or the CARD LIFE is less important. BUT, if you plan on keeping the card and using it several times, then CONNECTION and MAINTENANCE charges and CARD LIFE will kill your low PRICE PER MINUTE over time.

The key is to know how you will use your minutes. I general rule of thumb I use is, unless you are using your card for specific, multi hour, single calls, it is best to get the card with NO CONNECTION or MAINTENANCE charges with the lowest PER MINUTE rates.
